Orthopedic Surgery

While orthopedic surgery is common, especially as pets begin to age, the success of these procedures can dictate the quality of your pet’s life.

In the event that your pet would need surgery, we give the option to send your pet to the surgery center or to utilize our trusted, mobile orthopedic surgeon.

Ultrasounds

As a practice, one of our goals is to offer state-of-the-art medicine and diagnostic testing, so we are pleased to offer ultrasound services to quickly and efficiently diagnose your pet. We have a trusted, professional internal medicine specialist that comes in to provide this service.
Ultrasonography is a type of diagnostic technique that uses ultrasound waves to produce an imaging study. This means that when we perform ultrasonography, we can see internal images of the patient’s body. Unlike some other imaging studies, like X-rays, ultrasonography does not use radiation. Instead, ultrasonography uses high-frequency sound (ultrasound) waves to create a picture of what is inside your pet’s body. Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases.

Walk-Ins

We understand that there are times that you may not be able to schedule an appointment, so in those cases, we welcome you to come to visit our hospital with your pet for a walk-in.

Appointments will always be preferred and prioritized over a walk-in, but we know that it’s important to have this option to accommodate busier schedules.

Wellness Care

At Mellina Animal Hospital, we believe annual wellness care is imperative to keeping your pet happy and healthy! Your pet’s health is important and preventive care is necessary. We recommend wellness exams, keeping your pets on a vaccination schedule, and working with us on all facets of wellness care.

During your annual physical exam, your veterinarian fully examines your pet and discusses vaccinations and ongoing wellness. Just like you do wellness visits with your doctor, it’s important that your pet does the same. During these visits, our team will spend time examining your pet from nose to tail.
